1. First steps in Lingokids Premium:
a. What does my trial include?
Your Lingokids Premium trial includes 4 Private Classes with native English teachers, 30 minutes each, which you can enjoy for 1 month.
b. How do I book my classes?
Everything you need to do for your classes can be done through the Parent Dashboard.
The Parent Dashboard (https://app.lingokids.com) is the place to go to book, cancel and join your classes, as well as to view your past and your upcoming classes.
1. Go to https://app.lingokids.com. Log in with the email you used to subscribe. You may not have a password, but don’t worry, just click on “Need a password?”, and one will be provided for you.
2. Click on the calendar icon on the main page.
3. Select the week you want to book your classes for. You can choose between the current week, next week, or the week after next. Once you've clicked on your preferred option, you just have to select your preferred date and time, and confirm your class!
c. How do I view and manage my classes?
You can select to view your Upcoming, Past or Canceled classes. If you select "Upcoming", you will see the classes you have booked in chronological order, with the name of the teacher who will be teaching them, and a button to cancel the class.
Please note: you can only cancel up to 2 hours before the start time in order to not loose it. If you don’t show up to class or try to cancel less than 2 hours before the start time, the class will be lost.
d. How do I join my class?
Go to the card of the selected class you will be joining. If you are using your computer or laptop, click on the "Join the class" button, that you will see on the lower right corner. If you are using a tablet or mobile device, you will need the Meeting ID number to insert in the Zoom app (our videoconference system):
Not right away. Your Lingokids Premium trial includes classes with any of our native English teachers, available 24/7. All our teachers are native, professional, and have experience teaching young children. We want your child to be exposed to different teachers, so once your trial ends and your subscription begins, you can choose your favorite one!
f. What happens if I arrive late to class or I miss my class?
We understand that children can be unpredictable!
Your teacher will wait for the first 10 minutes of the class for your child to show up. If your child arrives late to class, the class time will still end at the original class end time.
If you miss your class for any reason, and don’t cancel it at least 2 hours before the start time, this class will be lost.
We encourage all students to show up to class on time to enjoy the full benefits of Lingokids!
2. Curriculum and structure:
a. Do classes have levels? What level is my child?
Yes. We have 3 levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. We determine the level of your child during your first trial class. We will continue to evaluate their progress and adjust the classes to it.
Your child’s level will be determined by the teacher during your first trial class, but will be adapted progressively throughout time. Based on this progress, your child’s classes will be personalized and adapted to your child’s own needs and learning speed.
b. When will I start noticing my child’s progress?
You will start noticing progress on your child’s English after your first month of classes. Lingokids works, see for yourself with Lourdes, one of our lovely students!
c. What evaluation will my child receive after a class? When will I start noticing progress?
As part of taking online classes with us, our trained teachers will evaluate your child after every class. You will receive this evaluation via email once your class has finished as an overview of the teacher's comments on how your child performed! We evaluate students on:
Does the child follow visual cues and movements? Do they respond to expressions and the teacher's voice and interactions?
Can they respond to questions asked by the teacher? Do they use complete sentences? Do they understand the class concepts?
Does the child recognize and articulate the learning objectives from the class? Do they show improvement from their previous class?

d. How long are the classes?
All paid classes are 30 minutes. This includes 25 minutes of class time and 5 minutes for parent and teacher interaction. We encourage parents to talk with teachers during the last few minutes of the class to hear about their child's progress and ask any questions!
e. What can I do to get ready for class?
Getting ready is super easy! We will learn a different topic every week, and we will provide you with the materials to get ready for class (and practice afterwards!).
Once you book your class, you will receive a confirmation email, including the topic that your child will learn in that class. You can also find the topic in the information card of the appointment, in the Parent Dashboard. This topic will always appear in the first place of the Kids Mode, in your Lingokids app (it updates weekly, so make sure your upcoming class corresponds with that week).
f. Are classes private or in groups?
All of our classes are private. We personalize your child's class and adapt them to their age, level and attention span.
g. What will my child learn in each class?
In Lingokids we learn a different topic every week, following our Lingokids Curriculum. This curriculum is designed by education specialists, and will be adapted and personalized following your child’s specific level and learning speed.
We encourage you to have at least one class per week to make sure your child is exposed to all the topics!
In class, your child will practice the songs and vocabulary from the weekly topic. Classes are a great way for your child to practice their spoken English. We also play fun games that reinforce concepts like sharing and listening.
Depending on the level of your child, the class may focus on:
- Identify and master some high frequency words and phrases, develop continuous English learning skills.
- Understand and use simple English words and sentences for basic daily communication.
- Communicate on very familiar topics using a variety of words and phrases.
- Communicate on a diverse set of topics, demonstrate the ability to narrate and describe things in detail accurately
Where can I find the topic of each class?
- In the first place of the Kids Mode, in the Lingokids App (updates weekly)
- In the confirmation email of your booked class
- In the class information card, in the Parent Dashboard
h. Do I have to speak English to communicate with the teachers?
No, you don't need to speak English to communicate with our teachers. You will receive evaluations by after every class, and these will be in English. But you can always reply to the email and we will help you translate: We offer email support in all languages!
i. My child might be too young for classes
If you are concerned your child might be too young for classes with us, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can review your child's class evaluation.
Generally, we do not recommend taking online classes for children younger than 2 years old.
Some students may have trouble concentrating for a 30 minute class with us. That is okay! We encourage your child to start learning with the Lingokids app. When they are ready, we are happy to enroll them in classes with us!
a. Is my trial entirely free?
Yes, your trial is entirely free. We ask for your payment information, but we do not charge you until your month free trial is over. Upon signing up, you will be notified of this payment date. If your little one isn’t ready for classes, no problem! You can cancel any time. To cancel during your trial period just contact us at email@example.com.
Please remember: If you cancel your subscription during your trial, your access will end immediately.
b. Do classes expire?
Yes, if you do not use all your 4 classes during your Lingokids Premium trial, you will lose these classes once the free trial is over. But if you decide to continue with us after the trial, your classes from then on will not expire!
For our paying Premium users, unused classes do not expire. If you don't use all the classes from one month, we will roll them over to the following month. This is especially helpful if you are going on vacation, or you need to cancel a class last minute (remember: at least 2h before the scheduled time). Your classes will accumulate, and you will never lose them, as long as your subscription is still active.
If you cancel your subscription, you will lose all your accumulated classes.
c. Will I get charged monthly?
Yes, after your trial. Your first month is entirely free. If you don’t cancel your trial before the end date, your second month will be charged, and you will be automatically billed monthly thereafter.
Lingokids is a subscription-based service, and our Lingokids Premium plan is a monthly package.
4. Safety and Privacy
a. Will my class be recorded?
Lingokids is founded on the principle of improving the world’s access to quality education and we are committed to providing an educational, entertaining, and safe service for kids and parents. We know that you care about how your family’s personal information is used and shared, and we take your privacy and safety very seriously. We are extremely sensitive to family and educator concerns about their and their children’s personal information and safety.
We record each and every Class participated in by both your child and a Lingokids Online Teacher, including the videos and voices of your child and Teacher and any other person present. The purpose of recording each Class is to allow the parent to review the progress of your child and to allow Lingokids to manage the performance of our Online Teachers. We ensure a safe environment for children!
The recorded videos will be kept strictly confidential and will be for our internal use only. We will not disclose the recorded videos to the public or share the recorded videos with any third parties without a parents’ express consent.
Want to opt out of class recordings?
If you do not want your child's class to be recorded, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will block or blur the Student’s image and distort the Student’s voice to hide the Student's identity, and prevent any future recordings after the receipt of your request.
