Microphone not working during speech games or voice activities? Permissions, a stale app, or a conflicting app are usually the culprit — and all quick to fix. This guide walks you through each one.
Quick Fixes to Try First
Start here. These three steps resolve the majority of microphone problems:
- Update your device's operating system and the Lingokids app to the latest versions available.
- Check that Lingokids has permission to access your microphone in your device settings.
- Restart your device to refresh any system resources that may be affecting the mic.
Still Not Working? Try Reinstalling
If the quick fixes didn't do it, a clean reinstall usually does:
- Uninstall the Lingokids app from your device.
- Download and install the latest version from [the App Store, Google Play, or the Lingokids website].
- Log in with your account email and password to restore your subscription and profiles.
Before trying the mic again, make sure no other apps are running that use the microphone at the same time, and check that your device's mute switch or volume controls haven't disabled it. A quick test in another app confirms whether the mic itself is working fine outside Lingokids.
Send Us a Recording
If the issue is still there after reinstalling, a short screen recording goes a long way. Capture the microphone problem as it happens, ideally showing the specific game or activity and send it to hello@lingokids.com. It gives our team exactly what they need to diagnose and fix it fast.
