Parents and caretakers can now control their kids’ screen time directly from the Lingokids app. We know daily screen time management is one of the biggest concerns families have. So we are delighted to offer a feature that addresses that worry.
With the paid subscription, grown-ups can easily regulate the amount of time kids spend playing Lingokids on their devices.
- How do I set it up?
→ From the Kids Area
- Open the Menu
- Select the Timer icon
- Pass through the Parental Gate
- Set the daily screen time limit for your child
- Tap Save
→ From the Parents Area
- Access the Profile section
- Choose the child profile you would like to set the limit for
- Select the Screen Time option
- Set the daily screen time limit for your child
- Tap Save
- How do I disable it?
→ From the Kids Area
- Open the Menu
- Select the Timer icon
- Pass through the Parental Gate
- Tap on "Remove all time limits"
→ From the Parents Area
- Access the Profile section
- Choose the child profile you would like to set the limit for
- Select the Screen Time option
- Tap on "Remove all time limits"
- How can I confirm that a screen time limit has been set?
When you have enabled the Screen Time feature, you will see:
→ The timer icon next to the profile name
→The timer icon with the remaining time next to the child's profile name
Tips for Screen Time
The American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry suggests that kids under 5 years shouldn't exceed 1 hour of screen time per weekday. For older kids, time settings should be based on the parent’s discretion and individual family rules.
- Up to 30 minutes a day with the Lingokids app for children up to 3 years old
- Up to 35 minutes a day for children ages 4 to 6
- Up to 40 minutes a day for children ages 7 to 8
