You can set a daily screen time limit for each of your kids right inside the app, and there are two ways in — the timer in the Kids Area, or the Screen Time option in the Parents Area. Both take under a minute, and you can change or remove a limit whenever you like. Screen time limits come with Lingokids Plus.
How Do I Set a Screen Time Limit?
From the Kids Area
- Open the Menu in the Lingokids app.
- Tap the Timer icon.
- Pass through the Parental Gate.
- Set the daily limit for your kids.
- Tap Save.
From the Parents Area
- Go to the Profile section in the Lingokids app.
- Choose the profile you'd like to set a limit for.
- Tap Screen Time.
- Set the daily limit.
- Choose which activities you'd like the limit to cover.
- Tap Save.
You can limit individual activity types — theatre, lessons, or Play Together. Games stay available whatever limit you set.
How Do I Remove a Screen Time Limit?
From the Kids Area
- Open the Menu in the Lingokids app.
- Tap the Timer icon.
- Pass through the Parental Gate.
- Tap Remove all time limits.
From the Parents Area
- Go to the Profile section in the Lingokids app.
- Choose the profile.
- Tap Screen Time.
- Tap Remove all time limits.
Can I Use My Device's Own Parental Controls Instead?
Absolutely, and plenty of families use both together.
- iPhone and iPad — set up Screen Time controls in your device settings
- Android — use Digital Wellbeing in your device settings
What Else Helps Keep Screen Time Varied?
- Fresh content — new activities are featured regularly, so there's always something your kids haven't tried
- Shuffle — your kids can tap the blue shuffle button at the end of the activity list for something new
- Achievement cards — monthly cards to celebrate how far they've come, together
- Recommended activities — what your kids see adapts to what they need next
