Is the Lingokids Alexa Skill Free?
Yes, completely. There's nothing to pay to enable it or to use it.
Which Languages Does the Skill Support?
You can use the skill anywhere in the world, as long as your device language is set to one of these:
- English
- Spanish (Spain, Mexico or USA)
- French
- Italian
The Lingokids content itself is all in English — the language setting just changes how you talk to Alexa.
Which Devices Work With the Skill?
Any Alexa-compatible device: phones, Echo devices with or without a screen, and Fire TV. Turn it on from the Amazon Skills Store, or in your Alexa app under Skills & Games.
What Can My Kids Listen To?
More than 200 of our best songs, bedtime stories and podcast episodes — the same whether or not your device has a screen.
Can My Kids Play Lingokids Games on Alexa?
Not yet — the interactive games all live in the app. Download Lingokids for those.
How Do My Kids Find Something to Listen To?
They just tell Alexa what they fancy. Any of these work:
- "I want to dance"
- "I want to learn"
- "I want to sing"
- "Tell me a story"
Lingokids puts together a playlist to match.
How Do We Control Playback?
- Pause — "Alexa, stop"
- Resume — "Alexa, continue"
- Skip — "Alexa, next"
- Go back — "Alexa, previous"
- Volume — "Alexa, turn up the volume" or "turn down the volume"
- Repeat — "Alexa, repeat"
- Help — "Help", while the Lingokids skill is running
Commands vary a little by device and language setting, so if one doesn't land, try saying "Help".
What Is Alexa Kids, and Do I Need It?
Alexa Kids is Amazon's own set of child-friendly settings — it filters explicit content, blocks shopping, and lets Alexa recognise your kids' voices and answer accordingly. You don't need it to use the Lingokids skill, but we'd recommend it.
