Theater is where your kids watch videos in Lingokids — a curated library of more than 300 videos, made by educators, with no ads at all. You'll find it in the bottom navigation bar of the Kids Area. If you knew it as Video Mode, this is the same thing with a new name and a proper home in the app.
How Do I Find Theater?
In the Kids Area, tap the Theater icon in the bottom navigation bar. The whole video library opens up, ready to go.
What Can My Kids Watch in Theater?
- Animated stories, songs and puppetry — early learning ideas wrapped up in something your kids will actually want to watch
- Activity videos — drawing, dance, yoga and interactive storytelling, for when they'd rather join in than sit still
- Video series — longer runs that build on thinking, social and emotional skills
- Inspiring people — well-known figures and educators who spark a bit of curiosity
It's all sorted into categories like Series & Songs, Song Compilations, and Lucas and Me, alongside your kids' favourite Lingokids characters.
What Makes Theater Different From Other Video Apps?
Theater sits inside the Lingokids app, so your kids can only reach content that was made for them. No ads. Ever. No rabbit holes, no odd suggestions in the sidebar, no interruptions — just videos you'd be happy to leave them with.
Tapping anywhere on the screen brings up the video controls, so even the youngest kids can find their way around. When a video finishes, the next one starts on its own unless someone touches the screen.
How Do I Lock the Screen While a Video Plays?
Tap the lock icon in the top right corner and your kids can't navigate away mid-video. Tap it again to unlock.
Can I Limit How Long My Kids Spend in Theater?
Yes — Theater is one of the activity types you can put a daily limit on. See how to set screen time limits.
