Lessons are structured learning paths that take your kids through a whole subject from start to finish — a check-in at the beginning, activities that build on each other, and a certificate at the end. They sit alongside free play in the app rather than replacing it, and they're where you can actually see progress happening.

How Are Lessons Different From Free Play?

Free play lets your kids wander wherever they fancy. A Lesson takes them through a complete cycle instead, starting with a gentle assessment and ending with another one, so there's something concrete to compare at the end.

What Makes a Lesson Worth Doing?

• One skill at a time — each Lesson focuses on a single skill, so it goes somewhere rather than skimming
• Built to progress — activities start simple and get harder, so your kids build up rather than being dropped in
• At their own pace — a Lesson takes most kids one to two weeks across several sessions. There's no rush
• They can do it alone — Lessons are designed for kids to work through independently, which is good for their confidence and good for your afternoon
• Made by educators — every Lesson comes from our Education team

What Subjects Do Lessons Cover?

Lessons are grouped by stage — Preschool Readiness, Kindergarten Readiness and 1st Grade Readiness — and cover:

• Literacy — alphabet, phonics, reading and writing
• Maths — shapes, counting, adding and subtracting
• Science — space, weather, animals and more
• Social and emotional learning — emotions, empathy and getting on with people
• Nutrition — healthy food and balanced habits
• Career Lessons — real jobs, explored through play
• English vocabulary — themed words across everyday topics

Are There Tests?

Not in the way you're thinking. There are playful check-ins along the way — game-like, stress-free, and built to celebrate effort rather than catch anyone out. You'll get updates on how your kids are getting on, framed encouragingly.

What Happens When My Kids Finish a Lesson?

They earn a certificate, and it's theirs for good. Go back into the Lesson and you'll find it in the top right corner — it stays saved, so they can admire it as often as they like. 

Where Do I Find Lessons?

In the Kids Area, tap the Lessons icon. Everything's organised by your kids' age, with recommended Lessons at the top and more as you scroll.
