Our paywall requires the authorization of an adult or guardian. If you use third party app stores (App Store, Google Play), you may need to set up additional controls to avoid unauthorised purchases.
The good news is that both Apple and Android devices make this easy to do! By turning on authentication — which requires a password or other verification before any purchase is made — you can make sure that only you have access to your payment information.
👉 For Apple devices:
- If your child has their own device, you can use Ask to Buy to review and approve any purchase requests before they go through.
- If your child uses your device, you can set it to require a password for every purchase.
👉 For Android devices, you can follow the steps here.
👉 For Amazon devices, open the Amazon Appstore and go to Account > Settings > Parental Controls. Select Enable Parental Controls and enter your Amazon account password. Once set up, your password will be required to complete any in-app purchases. If your child has their own Fire tablet, you can also use the Amazon Parent Dashboard to review and approve purchase requests remotely.
