Photos and voice recordings from Lingokids activities never leave your device. Some Lingokids activities use your device's camera or microphone, and anything captured during those activities is processed on your device alone — never transmitted, stored, or shared externally. Lingokids requests camera or microphone access only when a specific activity needs it, and never for data collection or monitoring.
Why Does Lingokids Need Camera and Microphone Access?
Some Lingokids activities use your device's camera or microphone as part of the activity itself — for example, so your kids can speak or appear on screen during a game. Lingokids asks for that access only at the point a specific activity needs it, and the permission pop-up you see comes from your device, not from Lingokids. Camera and microphone access is never used to collect data or to monitor your kids.
Is Lingokids COPPA Compliant?
Lingokids complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) on every subscription, including both Lingokids Basic and Lingokids Plus. Lingokids is also a certified member of the kidSAFE® Seal Program. Safe as standard, on the free plan and the paid plan alike.
How Do I Turn Off Camera or Microphone Access for Lingokids?
Turn off camera or microphone access for Lingokids at any time in your device's settings, under the Lingokids app's permissions. Turning access off does not affect the rest of the Lingokids app, so your kids can keep playing everything that does not need the camera or microphone.
