Some cards need to be enabled for international purchases! If you are using a credit/debit card to subscribe, try approving foreign purchases on your bank account.
If your local currency is American dollars (USD) or Euros (EUR), it is possible that your card is set to automatically decline recurring charge requests from merchants. We recommend contacting your bank to resolve this issue.
Additionally, you can try updating your payment method. Go to the platform you used to subscribe and change your payment method.
Apple through the App Store:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap on your name.
- Click Payment & Shipping. You may be asked to sign in with your Apple ID.
- From here, you can either add or update a payment method.

If you have Family Sharing:
You can subscribe using your family's main Apple ID. However, you can set up your child's email address as the sign-in email.
By doing this, the subscriptions' general settings (such as payment and cancelation) are managed by the main Apple ID, but the account will be under the sign-up email address in terms of logging in.
Google Play Store:
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Store app.
- Go back to the item you want to buy & tap the price.
- Tap the current payment method.
- Choose a different payment method or add a new one.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to complete your purchase.

If you have Family Payment:
Unfortunately, the family payment method is only available to buy apps (one-time purchase), not to buy a subscription (also considered to be an "in-app" purchase).

In this case, you will have to add a different payment method and make sure to use your own Google Play account, not your child's, to subscribe to Lingokids.
You can switch between Google Play accounts by opening the app and clicking on the picture (avatar) on the upper right corner. The different accounts will be listed there! Just click on your parental email address and you're all set.
Amazon:
- Sign in and visit Your Payments
- Select Settings and update your Default Purchase Preference
- Choose an existing payment method or add a new one
- Verify your details and select Continue

If you are using PayPal:
- Go to your Wallet.
- Click the card you want to update.
- Click Update card and enter the new information.
